FAQs

Got questions for a wedding photographer? I can help

Here are a few FAQs that I get a lot. I try to be open and honest about my process so if you don’t see a question you have below please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I Am fully vaccinated

As a wedding photographer, I place my clients’ safety and happiness above everything else, and will do everything in my capacity to keep everyone safe. This is why I am fully vaccinated and will be abiding by all the government guidelines while helping you make your most important day even better. I, and anyone who works with me, will be happy to show you the Vaccine Pass, if your event requires it.

What is your style as a photographer?

My style is mostly documentary wedding photography with a touch of artistic storytelling, and a handful of gently guided, relaxed and natural portraits. This basically means that I focus a lot on candid photos (especially photos of people having fun!) and on capturing your wedding as it happens - real moments, real emotion. That said, I won't leave you alone and clueless. I will typically put you where there is amazing lighting and guide you with some directions.

I will also mention, however, that your wedding is not all about the photographs. Your wedding is about love, about spending time with your loved ones, about having a good time. I believe as a photographer the photographs should never take priority over the experience of your wedding. I want you to have an amazing day, first and foremost!

Will you be the only one shooting my wedding?

On bigger weddings (more than 100 people), I would recommend opting for a second photographer. It will give you two angles at the same time but also allow me to be more focused and capture more of your special moments. On smaller events like elopements or engagement sessions, it’ll just be me and my gear.

How long will it take to get our images?

I pride myself on a quick turnaround time. The industry norm is 4-8 weeks, but I try to have the soft copies done within 4 weeks.

How many images do you deliver?

It is hard to say as every wedding will be different (there can be as much as 1000+ photos, but depending on what kind of coverage you've booked), but I can conservatively say for an 8-hour day you can expect 600 + images . There are usually a few similar images from every moment as I click away, but I will send them all to you, just in case you like the way you look on another.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yup, and it is included in my Worry Free package. I think they are a great way for you to get to know the photographer. Plus, I also offer discounted engagement sessions with my Classic Full day wedding package.

What should we wear for engagement sessions?

While there is no specific style you should wear, there are certain clothing that work better than others. I usually warn against bright bold colours and patterns as they can be distracting. Ideally, wear something more earth-toned, with neutral colours. Again though, it all comes down to personal choice so if you want to rock a green shirt, you do you!

Will you travel?

Yes. It would be a great honour for me to travel for your wedding! So if you’re planning an international wedding/elopement or just somewhere further out from Auckland, let me know and I will fill you in about my travel requirements. I keep it really minimal.

Great pictures follow great experiences

Having done over 100 weddings shoots in Auckland and around New Zealand, I believe that the photographs should never take priority over the experience of your event.

So, whether you’re having a wedding, an engagement, an elopement or just a couples photo session, you focus on having a good time and I guarantee the pictures will turn out well. Here is some proof.
